OnePlus, a day after unveiling it’s OnePlus 6 smartphone globally in an event in London, has brought the device to Indian shores. The smartphone has been a subject to several teasers since days and aims to take on some of the premium smartphones.
The smartphone maker claims to have made several upgrades in its OnePlus 6. It not only gets a glass back panel but also a notch at the front, new gesture controls and improved camera abilities.
OnePlus 6 price and availability
OnePlus 6 comes in three variants based on their RAM and storage options. It comes in 6GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB. The base model costs Rs 34,999 while the 128GB model is priced at Rs 39,999. You can buy the smartphone from company’s online store or from Amazon India. The smartphone also comes with a bunch of offers from Airtel, Reliance Jio and more.
OnePlus 6 specifications
OnePlus 6, as expected, comes with high-end specs under the hood. The smartphone’ highlight is the extended screen. There’s a 6.28-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED screen with 19:9 aspect ratio. There’s also a notch on top that includes the proximity, ambient light sensors and the speaker.
The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back with vertical aligned cameras above it. The 3.5mm headphone jack, charging port and the speaker grille are at the bottom.
Powering the handset is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor, clubbed with 6GB or 8GB RAM and Adreno 630 GPU. Like mentioned above, the 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants come with 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage. There is no support for MicroSD card.
In the camera department the smartphone boasts of a dual rear camera setup like the OnePlus 5T. You get a 16MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and Sony IMX519 sensor and a 20MP secondary camera with Sony IM376K sensors. These work in tandem with the Snapdragon 845 to bring video shooting capabilities of up to 60fps at 4K resolution. The cameras also have the ability to shoot slow motion videos at 480fps in HD resolution.
At the front there is a 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor, which is the same as OnePlus 5T but comes with some new Portrait features.
As for the battery, there’s a 3300mah non-replaceable battery like the last time that supports company’s own Dash Charging tech. OnePlus claims thats its OnePlus 6 can deliver around half day of use in 10 minutes of charging.
Now that the smartphone is out, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of reaction it gets from the crowd as it goes up against one of its newest rivals in town, the Honor 10.
