Mobistar XQ Dual Review

Design & Build Quality – Mobistar XQ Dual Review

Starting with the design part; at the front top end, we get a Dual Camera setup (13MP+8MP) which is the USP of the phone. Next to it are a whole lot of sensors and the multi-color notification LED and a single tone LED flash in front.

Coming to the display, we get a 5.5-inch FHD Display which is covered with 2.5D curved glass. Mobiistar has not mentioned if the glass is gorilla glass or not. The curve glass gently melds in along with the curved sides, thus making it easy to hold for prolonged duration.

The bottom chin contains Home, back and overview keys. Sadly these are not backlit but you get used to them pretty soon.

The bottom of the mobiistar XQ Dual contains a mic, a mono speaker and a microUSB port for charging. There’s OTG support but no fast charging. On the right side, we get Power key and a Hybrid SIM tray slot.

On the left side of the device we have the volume rockers. All the physical buttons are extremely clicky and give a good feedback. The top edge of the phone houses a secondary noise cancellation MIC and 3.5mm Audio Jack.

At the back of the Mobistar XQ Dual Review we have the single 13-megapixel camera with Dual Tone LED flash. In the middle we have the circular fingerprint scanner which is quick and responsive.

The back panel is made of metal whereas the top and bottom edges are made up of plastic to facilitate the internal antenna.

Display – Mobiistar XQ Dual Review

Display of Mobiistar XQ is a 5.5-inch FHD Display with a resolution of 1080 X 1980 and pixel density of 401 ppi. The display is the older kind with a 16:9 ratio but then again there is only so much a manufacturer can do in the budget segment.

The colors on the display are sharp and watching videos was a good experience. The display is bright enough to be used easily under direct sunlight. Viewing Angles are good, and blacks are decent for a LCD panel.

Performance – Mobiistar XQ Dual Review

The phone comes with the Snapdragon 430 processor and 2 variants with 3/4 GB Ram. This combo makes the device quite good at this price. Out of 64GB of internal storage, you get about 52 GB free. If you still feel you need more, there is always that Hybrid slot.

We got an antutu score around 58,000 mark. While this shows the device is great for daily usage and social media apps usage, do not expect it to play games on hi-res. How ever lighter games like Temple Run and Jetpack joyride had not issues.

Camera – Mobiistar XQ Dual Review

Coming to the USP of the Mobiistar XQ Dual, the device houses a 13MP+8MP dual front-facing camera setup with a single LED flash. The selfies captured using Mobiistar XQ are great in daylight and average in low light. But the front flash can come in handy under the latter conditions. The selflie quality is comparable to that of Xiaomi Redmi Y1.

Out of two cameras in front one is a normal camera and the other is a wide angle camera for group selfies. This is infact quite an innovative feature to see in such a budget device from Mobiistar.

At the rear we get a 13-megapixel f/2.0. The photos are decent keeping the budget pricing of the Mobiistar XQ Dual. Daylight pictures are good and as expected, there’s quite a bit of noise in low light images. Overall in this price segment, this is as good as it gets.

Battery – Mobiistar XQ Dual Review

The Mobiistar XQ Dual comes with a 3,000mAh battery which will have no issues keeping the device going for a whole day.

The battery optimisation on the Mobiistar XQ Dual is great and we ended up with 10-15% battery every day even after extensive usage comprising 2-3 hours of youtube, 1-2 hours of gaming, 3-4 hours of music listening and shuffling between social media apps.

Verdict – Mobiistar XQ Dual Review

Considering the price, Mobiistar XQ Dual is a great device if your primary usage includes social media apps, selfies and some light gaming. The FHD screen makes sure you have a great experience be it watching videos or playing games. The device feels sturdy and almost premium and the UI is quick and snappy. Overall a great device at the given price point.
