Design – JVC XS-XN226 Bluetooth Speaker Review
The XS-XN226 speaker has a handbag inspired compact and ultra-thin design and also comes with a lanyard. The chocolate bar design is helpful to keep it inside a bag without any problem. It can also slip-in jacket pockets easily. There are two colors to choose from – Black and White and both of them look classy for a portable speaker.
Our review unit is the black one and that is what we would have preferred personally as well keeping in mind that the soft touch coating on the speaker attracts dust evidently. The XS-XN226 is made with a high-quality rubber oil coating giving it a matte finish. We especially liked the retractable holder at back and the rubber pads are useful as well, so if your speaker is kept face up on the table it would not move around with the bass beats.
Attention to detail on the device is great.
Battery Life – JVC XS-XN226 Bluetooth Speaker Review
The XS-XN226 is powered by a 1000mAh Li-Ion rechargeable battery. JVC claims that you can listen to 8-10 hours of music on a single full charge on medium volume and around 5 hours at max volume. The battery can be charged fully in 2.5 hours. All these claims by JVC were found to be true by us in our testing period. It seems like high time that bluetooth speakers too start utilising the fast charge technology. Imagine being able to charge the same speaker in just half an hour!
Sound Quality – JVC XS-XN226 Bluetooth Speaker Review
JVC XS-XN226 Bluetooth Speaker has a peak music power output of 5000W PMPO with the stereo effect. There are 2x3W speakers and we found the sound quality to be quite good, with clarity in the bass and tuned treble. There’s a built-in bass port on the rear side, delivering premium quality of sound. Surprisingly even at full volume the sound stays crisp.
Bass & Treble: The speaker does support stereo sound. The low & high pitch ranges are perfect. We were able to hear even the fine detail in the music. Full points to JVC here.
Sound Quality: We tried various types of media from different genres of songs to interviews to movies and we were completely taken away by how good the sound comes out in all these medias. The sound quality is crisp and clear. Even after using it continuously to drain the battery, there wasn’t any distortion or noise till the moment where they battery died.
Connectivity – JVC XS-XN226 Bluetooth Speaker Review
The connectivity features, besides Bluetooth, include an AUX port to wire your phone with the speaker, TF card support, output port to access songs from your Memory cards and a line-out function to couple the portable speaker with another speaker for enhanced output.
The Bluetooth has a standard connectivity of 10-12 metres. There’s also in-built FM to listen to your favorite radio channels.
You can also make/take call using the speaker and we found the sound quality to be quite decent for calls.
Price – JVC XS-XN226 Bluetooth Speaker Review
JVC has priced its XS-XN226 at Rs 1999 which according to us is just perfect. The speaker has everything (and more!) that you get in a sub Rs 2000 speaker from any other brand in the market too. JVC is known to have extremely good quality and having owned a couple of JV products in the last decade we can vouch for that.
